Welcome to the Southern Ontario Trail Rider's Club!

SOTC is a family orientated horse club serving the interests of nearly 100 horse families in Essex County and the surrounding area. We hold many shows throughout the year that foster a fun, friendly atmosphere in which we can show off our hard work with our horses and compete. Our shows offer a vast array of different classes including both Western and English performance events such as pleasure and equitation, to games events such as barrel racing and pole bending. Our club works hard to maintain our permanent show grounds located at 10800 South Talbot Road near Maidstone, where we hold several open shows a year.

New members are always welcome! SOTC holds its monthly meetings on the 1st Wednesday of every month at the Essex Civic Center in the Cafeteria, 8:00 p.m.  Come join us!

The Southern Ontario Trail Riders Club was officially named June 29th 1999, when our two existing horse clubs, the Trail Riders Saddle Club, and The Southern Ontario Horseman's Society, amalgamated into the Southern Ontario Trail Riders Club. Both these clubs had been in existence for over 30 years with the purpose of serving the interests of local horseman and the community. Still today, SOTC encompasses the same goals to provide a medium for which anyone may further enhance their knowledge, talent and enjoyment of the equine sport in a relaxed and family environment. Our mission statement was further developed after corresponding with Diane Sibley at the City of Windsor, November 30th 1999, to include the following:

bulletto maintain an equestrian facility for the training, education, and development of local youth, and for public use and enjoyment, for training and performance events related to equestrian sport
bulletto partner in support of fund raising efforts of other charitable organizations in the community, as may be deemed important, or related to club activities, or may involve its membership.
